I was the class artist in grade school, drawing Archie comic characters and painting horses. After a 40 year career in computer business applications, I dove into achieving my lifelong artist dream of making art full time: learning photography, calligraphy, drawing, watercolor and urban sketching online before taking in-person watercolor classes. I joined the San Clemente Art Association in 2019, co-chairing the Paint San Clemente plein air competition four times, and have won numerous awards for my portraits, florals, plein air and abstract watercolors in Southern California competitions.
In 2022, I painted and posted an original sunflower watercolor daily for 21 months to keep the war in Ukraine top of mind. I created my signature course, “Create Your Own Original Art,” in 2023, and now teach students online to create original watercolor abstracts and child portraits.
