Julio Vicente (J.Vicente6) is a Peruvian-born, Southern California–based self-taught visual artist whose work explores emotion, memory, culture and the human figure through an energetic neo-expressionist language.

Vicente began drawing seriously in 2015 and expanded into painting in 2019. What began as an instinctive practice of drawing faces developed into an extensive visual vocabulary of distorted heads, fragmented figures, bold lines and spontaneous gestures. Working across acrylic, oil, charcoal, ink, pastel, oil stick and mixed media, he embraces experimentation and the unexpected, often allowing a work to evolve without knowing its final destination.
