Michael Bishop has been a professional model maker his entire adult life, with over 40 years of experience creating miniatures for museums, architects, toy companies, legal cases, movies and more. Before retiring in 2020, he spent 31 years as an Imagineer with the Walt Disney Company, designing miniatures and full-size props for rides and attractions in all of the Disney Parks. His experience with Disney impressed upon him the value of storytelling and suspending disbelief. A technically accurate model has appeal, but a miniature that goes beyond accuracy and tells a story that people can relate to, becomes art. Now retired from creating miniatures for other people, he has been able to focus on his interests exclusively — and each piece tells a little bit of his story.
